Scotland Policy Conferences

Next steps for implementing the Glasgow City Region Deal

Morning, Wednesday, 29th August 2018

Glasgow Marriott Hotel, 500 Argyle Street, Glasgow G3 8RR

THIS EVENT IS CPD CERTIFIED

This seminar will provide a timely opportunity to assess the progress of the Glasgow City Region Deal.

It follows publication of the Local Government and Communities Committee report ‘City Regions: Deal or No Deal?’, which raised questions around the focus and structure of City Region Deals in Scotland, particularly in terms of ensuring that economic growth is inclusive and delivers benefits across society.

Delegates will discuss progress in delivering key infrastructure projects agreed as part of the City Region Deal across areas such as transport, housing and commercial facilities - and their potential contribution to economic growth.

Further sessions focus on policy priorities for ensuring that growth is inclusive and delivers benefits across the social and regional spectrum. In particular attendees will discuss the role of employability and skills programmes being delivered as part of the City Region Deal, as well as opportunities for building local economic networks.
