March 2017

Price: £95 PLUS VAT
Format: DOWNLOADABLE PDF

This seminar provided an opportunity to discuss the next steps for improving mental health services in Scotland, in advance of the new mental health strategy.

Delegates considered key issues relating to the prevention and diagnosis of mental illness as well as the delivery of mental health services, with discussion that focused on early intervention, and access to appropriate treatment and support.

Further sessions considered the next steps for children’s mental health, including improving access to child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) and reducing admissions to adult wards - and discussed priorities for the new national clinical specialists network which was launched to help improve mental health services for new mothers.

The conference brought together policymakers from the Scottish Government and Parliament with health professionals, representatives of mental health organisations, trade unions, stakeholders in education and training, local government, and healthcare and pharmaceutical industries, academics and commentators, third sector organisations, and user groups.
