This conference focused on the way forward for achieving net-zero in Scotland and a just transition.
Delegates examined what is needed from policy and stakeholder action to create a process that puts the nation at the forefront of decarbonisation policy development and implementation, whilst addressing both the ambitions and concerns of key stakeholders.
The conference was a timely opportunity to assess:
- COP26 and The Scottish Government’s commitment to net-zero emissions of all greenhouse gases by 2045
- plans to refresh its energy strategy
- the establishment of a new Just Transition Commission
- unknowns in the direction of UK government policy with new political leadership
