This conference focused on the National Planning Framework 4.
It was an opportunity for stakeholders and policymakers to discuss NPF4 at a key stage, as the Government consults on the draft Framework.
We expected discussion to focus on the scope and ambition of NPF4 - on the use of town centres, investment criteria alongside social and environmental value, and supply of housing land - and the impact on Scotland’s infrastructure plans and rural planning policy.
Delegates considered the issues in the context of developments such as the Bute House Agreement and Transforming Places Together: Scotland’s Digital Strategy for Planning.
We are pleased to have been able to include keynote sessions with Tom Arthur MSP, Minister for Public Finance, Planning and Community Wealth; and Hamish Trench, Chief Executive, Scottish Land Commission.
The conference was an opportunity for stakeholders to consider the issues alongside key policy officials who attended from The Scottish Government; Transport for Scotland; the DIT; and HMRC.
