The conference brought together stakeholders and policymakers as Transport Scotland finalises the first draft of a new National Transport Strategy and commences work on the Strategic Transport Projects Review and the Transport (Scotland) Bill is debated in Parliament.
Delegates discussed tackling the challenges to delivering key infrastructure projects, what the investment priorities should be and considered whether low-carbon projects such as Low Emission Zones, including that of Glasgow, were being pursued and implemented with sufficient urgency.
Further sessions focused on increasing the uptake of LEVs with a case study from Dundee City Council in implementing a local transport strategy with this as a key objective and a contextual analysis of Scotland’s transport system to establish where policy priorities ought to be focused in the future.
