This timely seminar discussed next steps for growing Scotland’s creative economy - following the meeting of the Scottish Government’s Creative Industries Advisory Group meeting in September 2017.
Delegates discussed key issues relating to skills and the creative workforce in the context of the UK’s impending exit from the European Union and priorities for developing effective partnership working - between educational institutions and the creative industries, and internationally - in furnishing the skilled workforce needed to underpin the sector.
They also considered the way forward for policy, and the industry itself, to enable Scotland’s creative economy to seize opportunities in new markets and support the growth of creative hubs throughout Scotland.
Further sessions assessed what more needs to be done by relevant sector agencies such as Creative Scotland to provide targeted support - including for SMEs who comprise much of the sector.
